The Licensing Board is committed to ensuring that the licensing regime within Aberdeenshire is both fair and equitable for all.
We require to publish equality outcomes every four years. These set out how we intend to meet our duties to eliminate discrimination, advance equality of opportunity and foster good relations.
As part of this process, we work closely with Aberdeenshire Council and the Education Authority, where it is in our power to do so we ensure that any joint outcomes are also brought forward.
At present we have identified the following outcomes:
| Specific Outcomes |
1 | Equalities is key to all that we do |
| - We recognise the need for strong ‘equalities’ leadership and are vocal in our commitments.
- We are informed, respectful and courteous.
- Equalities are a fundamental consideration in terms of our decision-making process.
- Our documentation is respectful clear, easy to understand, and services are accessible.
|
| Joint Outcomes |
1 | Service users, particularly those who face barriers through disability and language, are provided with accessible information on services provided by the Council. |
2 | Improve community safety by increasing confidence in the services provided through our work with partners to tackle and prevent hate crime. |
3 | Service users have an improved experience in accessing services that meet their needs through more regular and systematic involvement in design of service delivery across the Council. |
To develop these outcomes further we are interested in receiving your views in respect of our draft policy, the key equalities issues affecting you from a licensing perspective as well as how these may be mitigated by the Board.
Please help us by taking part in our short survey.
Please note that the response deadline for this consultation is the 17th of April 2025.
