''Examples of successful motions: Mairi Millar Aberdeenshire MSYP for Angus North and Mearns who is currently actively engaging with schools on her PADS campaign to ensure period provision under the Period Products (Free Provision) (Scotland) Act 2021 is being delivered in an accessible and dignified way. This campaign started as a motion in the Scottish Youth Parliament which passed in our October 2024 sitting (passing with 98% support).

Our other Aberdeenshire MSYPs, such as Beth MacKay MSYP, have also previously successfully passed motions through the Scottish Youth Parliament. Other previous successful campaigns by the Scottish Youth Parliament include the campaign for the Under 22s bus pass. This demonstrates how Scottish Youth Parliament campaigns and the work of MSYPs can bring about real change both nationally and locally.'' Bethany Ovenstone, MSYP Banff & Buchan Coast
