Community Asset Transfer Policy Review 2023

Consultation

Asset transfer is a process to allow a community organisation to take over publicly owned land or buildings, usually at a discounted price, in recognition of the public benefits that the community use will bring.  Aberdeenshire Council has a two step process firstly an Expression of Interest and secondly an Asset Transfer Request.  More details can be viewed on the website.  This process is largely governed by the Community Empowerment (Scotland) Act 2015, which requires public authorities to assess requests transparently against a specified list of criteria, and to agree the request unless there are reasonable grounds for refusal.

Aberdeenshire Council is committed to asset transfer that will bring benefits to communities and contribute towards achieving the Council´s aims and objectives.  In order to obtain feedback and ensure that our policy meets the needs of community groups we would ask that you answer the questions in the Survey.

The survey should take no more than 10 minutes and responses must be made by midnight on Sunday 23rd April 2023.
