The Community Works Project in Banff & Macduff have done some work with members of the local community, through a mini public process to distribute some funding to community groups within the local area. Following on from this, the group identified a need for a space for ALL families to have access to, for a range of activities, events, as well as just some drop in community space.
The group are very much in the early stages of forming ideas and would like your help with this. Currently, there are a range of ideas but what the group want is the space to be accessible to all families – from new parents to grandparents and everything in between. Offering a range of facilitated groups, activities and free space for families to meet, bond and meet other people.
We would appreciate it if you could spare 10 minutes to complete this survey to give us your thoughts, ideas and suggestions. We know there are already offerings, particularly for younger children, however, we want to make this more a community space – which provides for all age ranges as a family unit. If you have any queries, or want to discuss anything, please contact Martin Robertson – CLD Worker via martin.robertson@aberdeenshire.gov.uk or call 01467 539356.
The survey will not collate any personal data, or any data that could identify you in any form, however, one of the questions asks about willingness to become involved with the project in a volunteer capacity. Those interested should email or call Martin on the details above.

You may be aware that the Community Works Banff & Macduff have established a steering group to consider the local need for a family type community hub.

It is hoped there would be meeting space, group work space and kitchen space, with the building being access friendly.
Currently, a survey is being distributed amongst communities through schools, groups, local social media etc. to gather feedback from families on whether or not they would like to see a family hub and what they would like included. So far the response has been really positive and some great suggestions received. In order to compliment the already positive feedback, we would like to establish if there is an interest from those working with families in the local area. We are also interested to find out if you would see it as a potential resource to use within your work with families. There will likely be token charges for using facilities as eventually it will be community run, however your feedback will help us shape progress. If you have any queries please get in touch with Martin Robertson - CLD Worker martin.robertson@aberdeenshire.gov.uk 01467 539356. Thank you for taking the time to complete the survey.
