Current Outreach and Engagement Phase

As we head toward the end of May, we also see the end of the current phase of the Cultural Tides Community Engagement and Outreach programme.
The project so far has seen community groups across Aberdeenshire involved in consultations, workshops, drop-in sessions, and a programme of creative activities, all designed to explore heritage.
School groups have been able to explore their heritage through Doric songs and storytelling, making and mapping, portraiture and self-expression; New Scots have explored culture through photography and food; a dementia and carer group have shared heritage with primary school pupils through the Youth Music Initiative and the traditional songs and ballads of the Northeast; and a walking group in Peterhead have explored their heritage through engaging creatively with their coastal environment.
It's been a joy for the team to see these opportunities made available through the generous support of the National Lottery Heritage Fund, and to connect with people across the region.
