Cultural Connections - Aden Farming Museum

Celebrating Doors Open Day and Scottish Archaeology Month - Saturday 20th Sept 2025 11am-4pm

Join Aberdeenshire Museums Service for a day of fun at Aberdeenshire Farming Museum, with:

- Archaeology collections in the care of Aberdeenshire Museums Service.

- Short talks introducing recent archaeological discoveries and research.

- Children’s trail in the museum

- Demonstrations and guided walks.

- Re-enactment group History Matters - 7th Century tent camp, replica objects, demonstrations of early mediaeval metalworking in the courtyard.

Thanks in part to The National Lottery Heritage Fund, we will be hosting 'Cultural Connections' as part of Doors Open Days.

Join us at the Aberdeenshire Farming Museum to learn about the fascinating archaeology collections in the care of Aberdeenshire Museums Service, enjoy short talks introducing recent archaeological discoveries and research from around Aberdeenshire, and family friendly activities including children’s trails, demonstrations and guided walks.

The Cultural Tides engagement team will also introduce the new museum of Aberdeenshire project in the Aden Farming Museum theatre and hold an open forum and workshop with audience members to explore together what Aberdeenshire's heritage means for communities, both locally and across the shire.
