The Community Learning and Development Service offers targeted learning opportunities to support families during key transition periods such as the move from primary school to the academy. You may be aware we are providing opportunities for young people navigating this transition. We can also provide opportunities for parents and carers to help them support their young person. This can include, but is not limited to, support with peer networks, cost concerns, understanding your young persons experience and communicating with your young person and / or navigating intergenerational or cultural differences.
Community Learning and Development family learning opportunities are usually provided in a group setting. By parents and carers learning how to support their young person together; building confidence, sharing concerns and experience and strengthening relationships, we aim to help children, young people, and families create strong foundations for their academy experience. We would appreciate you taking a few moments to answer the following questions. Your responses will help us assess learning needs and plan support and opportunities during the P7 to S1 transition. At the end of the survey there is the option to self refer and a member of the Community Learning and Development team will get in touch to discuss P7 to S1 Parent / Carer (Family Learning) sessions.
