Proposed Merger of Foveran School and Tipperty School

Aberdeenshire Council continually monitor school rolls as well as the utilisation of schools within Aberdeenshire. Foveran School is currently operating beyond capacity and pupil numbers are expected to continue to increase, whereas, Tipperty School is underutilised with a decreasing roll.   A solution is needed that retains rural education giving pupils the best educational and social wellbeing benefits.

On 10 October 2024, Education and Children’s Services approved the launch of a statutory consultation proposing that Foveran School and Tipperty School should merge and operate as a single school with a new identify from August 2025.  Both buildings would remain and operate as one school.

The statutory consultation will run from 14 October 2024 to 13 December 2024.  A public meeting to discuss the proposal will be held on 5 December 2024, at 6.30pm within Foveran Village Hall, Blairythan Terrace, Foveran, AB41 6AX.  All are welcome to attend.

As part of the consultation a short online survey has been developed to gather information from the affected communities.   Further information on the proposal can be found following the link below;
