Aberdeenshire's Community Planning Partnership is supporting the development of Place Plans across Aberdeenshire, with the aim of enabling communities to thrive and live well locally. The Banff and Buchan Local Community Planning Group - which brings together representatives from local community groups, alongside third sector and public sector partners - is supporting the development of a Fraserburgh and District Place Plan. The Plan will only best reflect the distinct identity, assets and priorities of the local area if it is shaped by those that know the area best – the people that live, work and visit here.
In Spring 2026, an Engage Aberdeenshire survey was undertaken alongside a series of person engagement events which closed in May 2026.
Consultation outcomes were collated and emerging priorities were identified. Partners then came together to review the priorities, alongside local data sets and wider consultation outcomes at an in-person prioritisation event in Banff in June 2026. They Identified key activity areas to improve place and wellbeing outcomes for local communities, and these have been pulled together to form Draft Work Programmes, which are currently out for final consultation with partners (October 2026).
