2.

Are you aware that there is a food larder located at the harbour?

3.

In your opinion, what are the main causes of financial difficulties for households in Fraserburgh? Please select up to three from the list below.

4.

Considering the current financial difficulties some households encounter, do you support the continuation of the service in providing affordable grocery items? A list of regular items are listed below.

Fresh fruit and vegetables; chilled meat and dairy products; frozen goods; selection of tinned and packet goods; toiletries; free female products; free toothpaste and toothbrushes for children
5.

Have you supported the food larder in the past? For example, by volunteering or donating.

6.

In 2022, the food larder was supporting 50 households on a weekly basis. This has increased to 80 and there is currently a waiting list. Despite this growth, the larder is still operating within the same building, which presents some limitations. Do you support an application to move to larger premises that would help facilitate the expansion of resilience work in the community?

Shaw House, Mid Street, Fraserburgh

With the help of Fraserburgh Community Council and Aberdeenshire Council the Resilience Group have identified Shaw House, Mid Street as an ideal base for growing the services they provide.

Shaw House offers 296 square metres of floor space, compared to 26 square metres at the current location. Shaw House is on a public transport route, at the heart of the community and is an accessible building.

Given the wider services of the Resilience Group, the building would be utilised in various ways. It would provide a central base for all activities, whilst also allowing them to:

  • Increase opening hours and membership of the food larder
  • Provide a warm space in the winter months
  • Provide a space where the group can collaborate with partners (e.g. to provide food preparation/cooking classes, or a community hub)
  • Provide a space to store snow warden equipment
7.

Given the information above, do you support the Asset Transfer application to relocate to Shaw House?
