We are looking for additional stakeholder representation on our Aberdeenshire Integration Joint Board - could this be you?

  • Do you have a keen interest in Health and Social Care?
  • Could you help to share the experiences of others to inform decisions about Health and Social Care?
  • Could you dedicate time to prepare for and attend Integration Joint Board meetings?

The Aberdeenshire Health and Social Care Partnership (AHSCP) values the contribution that groups and people who live in our communities can bring to decision making.

We are recruiting for Stakeholder Members who live in the Aberdeenshire community who can attend meetings on a regular basis to represent the views of a wide range of people in the community as part of our Integration Joint Board (IJB). Meetings generally take place approximately 6 times a year, on a Wednesday and are scheduled for 4 hours however, may on occasion last longer. In addition, the IJB hold several development sessions throughout the year.

A stakeholder member is someone who is able to comment on and influence decision making. In terms of the IJB and its committees, Stakeholder Members do not have voting rights.

Stakeholder Members should use their own knowledge and experience to consider the impact of decisions on the individuals or groups that they represent. It is important that they are connected to other people in their stakeholder group in order to give others the opportunity to express what is important to them. We are specifically looking for a stakeholder representative for unpaid carers and a second representative for the third sector i.e. not for profit and non-governmental agencies such as charities, social enterprises and community groups.

Naturally the individuals that comprise these stakeholder groups will be diverse, as such, the appointed person must be able to demonstrate the appropriate experience and skill to reflect the breadth and diversity of views and situations of the individuals or groups that they represent.

Successful applicants will inspire trust and confidence in fellow colleagues, be able to diplomatically represent information and opinions in a respectful way, listen to and represent the views of others and be able to be objective and advocate for the views of others.

For full details of the role and requirements please review the Stakeholder Members Role Description.

Should you wish to discuss the role further or for informal enquiries please email - angela.macleod@aberdeenshire.gov.uk with your contact details.

Interviews are likely to be held in November 2024.

We will seek the details of two referees from the preferred candidate only. One of these referees should be from a group you currently are a member of or represent.
