Inverurie has a Place Plan, following a place-based review carried out between 2023 and 2024. The process was supported by a consultant and involved a wide range of local community members and our community planning partners.
Community groups in Inverurie have taken the lead on many projects and are already seeing the benefits. Being involved in the review has helped them secure funding and work more closely together across the town.
Inverurie also has a 20 Minute Neighbourhood Plan, created through a joint project involving A Place in Childhood, Inverurie Academy, Kellands School, and Port Elphinstone School. Young people from these schools worked together to shape the plan, which now sits alongside the Inverurie Place Plan. The Inverurie Town Team was actively involved throughout the process.
The next step will see the Inverurie Town Team begin a Place and Wellbeing Assessment. This will help review the data and progress so far, and identify any gaps or areas for improvement.
