This Local Transport Strategy is possibly going to be the most ambitious, bold and far reaching of the Council's Local Transport Strategies to date.
Developed against a backdrop of increasing global awareness of the issues associated with climate change, the increasingly volatile petroleum industry, a transition in the North East away from oil and gas industries, Brexit, and a rapidly developing market in travel and transport technology, many of the issues that will be identified in the new LTS are more relevant than ever and will set the scene to enable Aberdeenshire to retain its position as a leader in innovative, sustainable and healthy transport opportunities.
