Consultation has concluded
The aquarium sits on a stunning bit of coastline and the immediate surroundings will be improved to enhance the connection between the building and its position by the sea.
Currently underused, the outdoor space around the aquarium will be sympathetically landscaped to encourage people to enjoy a children’s activity area and picnics by the sea, as well as increasing the natural biodiversity. It is hoped that the area will link up with the newly renovated Tarlair pavilion – more reasons for people to spend time here. We would like you to get involved with the plans for enhancing this space so it meets the needs of the aquarium and the local community.
The area will be planted with natural coastal grasses, increasing the natural biodiversity by providing habitat for insects.
