With work already having started to build the second storey extension at the aquarium, the council is keen to begin early discussions with catering enterprises from across the north-east which might be keen to tender for the cafe/restaurant operations.
The aim is to provide a high quality offering for the 55,000+ visitors who flock to the attraction each year, to increase events and functions on-site. It's intended that the cafe/restaurant will operate during aquarium opening hours with the option to add out-of-hours or evening offers as the operator chooses. Together with the aquarium team, we want to create a seamless customer experience and visitor destination that also supports the thriving local community
The council is looking for information to help shape the cafe/restaurant catering concession at the aquarium, so if you're interested in the opportunity, please register your interest via this link to the Public Contract Scotland portal by 4th June.
