Introduction - this survey was not used, have archived for potential future use

Participation requests were introduced in April 2017 and come under The Community Empowerment Act. By making a participation request, a community body (or group of people in a community) can start a formal discussion with Aberdeenshire Council about how they would like to improve public services and become involved in decisions that affect their community.

Making a Request

Participation requests are not intended to replace established methods of engagement between communities and Aberdeenshire Council. We encourage community groups to have an informal chat with the council about any concerns they have. Communities can make contact with an Area Manager, their local councillor or get in touch with the relevant service through our contact centre. However, if a group wishes to make a formal participation request, Aberdeenshire Council has developed a process to enable community groups to do this. Information and guidance, along with an online form is available on the Council website

Feedback

We are seeking views of community organisations across Aberdeenshire about the participation request process. We would like to hear from groups whether or not they have submitted a request, and would particularly like to hear from community groups who have not submitted any. We would be grateful if you could provide feedback by completing the short survey below. It will take no more than 5 minutes to complete.
