Consultation has concluded
In an attempt to try and tackle the congestion and safety concerns around Fraserburgh South Park School, Aberdeenshire Council would like to trial a peak time School Street Closure Trial scheme. This is not a new initiative with many local authorities having implemented similar schemes, but would be the first of its kind in Aberdeenshire.
This is a trial scheme. If the monitoring and evaluation over the next 18 months proves it has been successful, the project can become permit. If it is deemed as unsuccessful, the project will end and the street returned to normal.
The aim of the project is to:
Create a reduced traffic zone so young people can access the school safely and so residents can enter their properties easily.
