We hope you enjoyed the Live Life Aberdeenshire Summer of Play!

You or your children may have taken part in our half day summer camps or our sports specific activities. Or perhaps you attended some of our free family sessions at our sports centres, swimming pools and museums? Maybe you took up the offer of free passes for some local visitor attractions or took part in one of our cultural projects?

We would love to hear what you did this summer and what you thought of the Summer of Play. We have provided several tools below for you to use to give your feedback - please feel free to use as many as you wish!

You can even upload your child's drawing showing what they enjoyed this summer (in the Tell us your Story tab below). We will choose the best drawing submitted to us by the end of August. The winner will win a family tubing pass for one of our outdoor ski centres!

    Swimming lessons

    My son who has just started S1 enjoyed some free swimming lessons during the summer. He wasn’t a very confident or strong swimmer so I signed him up for the 3 weeks free lessons. This actually ended up extended to 6 weeks! He very much enjoyed these lessons and is now fairly confident and competent in the water . These lessons were very beneficial for us and I’m very glad we had the opportunity to get a place.

    My 2 kids (P6 & P1) really Enjoyed the summer classes. They got to do activities they’d never done before (climbing wall, javelin etc) and they got to catch up with and meet some new friends. The added bonus for parents was it tired them out, stopped them getting bored while we were still working, got some exercise and it was completely free which was amazing as I probably wouldn’t have put them if I had to pay for the classes.


    The staff were lovely and very welcoming and the kids really enjoyed themselves. Thank-you very much.

    Thankyou so much to everyone involved in providing these summer camps for children.For working parents they provided the support we needed and helped us to maintain a healthy balance in the holidays ,with confidence knowing our daughter was going somewhere she was safe and happy! The staff were amazing , With lots of variety and fun being had.

    My son really enjoyed the summer camps. They provided a brilliant variety of activities, some he had never tried before such as hockey/archery . He would always come home full of what he had been doing and was always keen to go back. The staff helping were nice and I felt I was leaving him in safe hands. Thank you to everyone who made these camps possible. He will definitely attend again.

    Great camp for kids with so many options for kids to enjoy and not just games. A good length of time that allows time for working parents to get a bit of work done rather than drop off and pickup being so close to each other that it’s pointless. Would he happy to pay for this in future.

    My daughter attended the Peterhead and some Mintlaw classes with her cousin. She loved the variety of activities on offer from dancing to arts and crafts to archery to rock climbing to bouncy castle to zorb balls to name just a few. They were so well organised and provided me with free childcare so I could work in the holidays. Well done to Calum and all the team.

    My daughter thoroughly enjoyed her time at the camps over summer! Such a wonderful variety of activities and everyone was extremely welcoming and helpful! We will 100% be booking again. Thanks all involved for giving the children something filled with fun especially after the year they have had!

    My children, 8 and 6 , absolutely loved their time at the summer camps. They went to the Laurencekirk mearns camp and had a blast. The activities put on were fantastic. Much more than what we expected it to be. We will definitely use again.

    Thank you for giving the kids a wonderful time after such a hard year!

    My two children age 9 and 5 went to camp in stonehaven. They both enjoyed it most days.if a bigger range of activities could be included it would be even better. Archery , trampolines or equipment like skipping ropes and obstacle course style play aswell. We will def be booking in next year ! Staff were lovely and friendly.
