A new digital, video-enabled door entry system has been installed at Summerhill House in Newmachar as a trial to assess its suitability for other Aberdeenshire council Sheltered Housing schemes. Tenants have expressed their delight with the system, as it provides greater flexibility in answering visitor calls—whether from anywhere within the scheme or while out in the local community. Additionally, by using the app on their own devices, they can see who is at the front door before granting access, enhancing security and offering reassurance.

We can allocate auto fobs to tenants, which will automatically open the doors as they enter the building by picking up a signal. This is a significant improvement over current systems and will allow tenants using mobility aids to enter the building seamlessly. For tenants who are less digitally connected door codes can be arranged for their family and visitors to use.

If a tenant loses their fob this can easily be deleted from the system ensuring the security of the buildings is maintained promptly.
