As part of the Aberdeenshire Council Place Strategy, we will be working with you to create place plans for each academy town. Just now it's Turra's turn!
These plans will be built with the participation of people in Turriff and the surrounding area, and will be delivered together with our partners in the NHS, Fire Service, Police Scotland, and community groups. Aberdeenshire’s towns have their own distinct priorities and identities. These should be recognised, and local actions should reflect local needs.
We have recently concluded the first stage of our Engagement which included an online survey, meetings with various local organisations, a sports survey and in-person public events in Turriff and in the surrounding villages. Thanks to the pupils of Turriff Academy for their help in shaping the Survey Questions and also for providing the illustrations.
The analysis report on these sessions is available at the following link :
Turriff Engagement Analysis
This Initial engagement programme highlighted several areas of concern from the community, as well as aspects of strength and civic pride. We have now grouped these into 5 main themes: Culture & Identity, Streets & Spaces , Work- Essentials & the Future, Getting Involved and Getting About.
It is our intention to progress the engagement by forming workstreams to assess each topic in detail and to include local groups/individuals who can contribute to the process, provide their views, and help ensure the success of the Plan.
If you are interested in being involved with further engagement, please feel free to get in touch using one of the email addresses under 'Who's listening.' Our thanks to those who have already expressed an interest.
