2021 is going to be an exciting and important year for children's rights as Scotland prepares to incorporate the United Nations Convention on the Rights of the Child (UNCRC) into domestic law. The Aberdeenshire Children's Rights and Participation Steering Group are responsible for ensuring that all organisations contributing to the Aberdeenshire partnership are prepared and well supported to meet our statutory duties as public authorities. We would like to invite you to take this anonymous survey which will enable us to benchmark the level of awareness and understanding of the UNCRC across all professional groups within our partnership. Knowing our starting position will help us to provide the right support and raise awareness where it is needed. We plan to repeat the survey annually as a measure of improvement.
Importantly, the UNCRC is not just applicable to those working in children's services. It is applicable to all of us because the work that we all do is likely to have an impact on children, even if not directly. Please take part and help us to make sure that Aberdeenshire is the best place in Scotland for children to grow up.
