FAQs
How will I find out when I will be required at a Vaccination Centre?
Following submission of the questionnaire, you will be contacted by a colleague from Aberdeenshire Council who will provide you with furhter information and discuss your availability to cover a shift at your local vaccination centre.
Who should I contact if I am unexpectedly unable to attend a shift I have agreed to cover?
We understand that circumstances change and if you find you are unable to cover a shift you have previously agreed to please contact 01467 538353 as soon as possible and leave a message to allow alternative arrangements to be made.
What duties will I be asked to do?
During your shift you may be asked to meet and greet people arriving for their vaccination, direct them to where they need to be, assist people after they receive their vaccination and wipe down chairs.
What duties will I NOT be asked to do?
For insurance purposes there are some duties that you will not be asked to undertake and these include, for example, manual lifting (e.g. move chairs/tables), clear pathways of snow.
Why am I unable to volunteer at the Inverurie and Peterhead Vaccination Centres?
As the venues being used for both the Inverurie and Peterhead vaccination centres are not owned by Aberdeenshire Council it is not currently possible for volunteers to undertake indoor duties here. However, there are volunteering opportunities at the Huntly and Fraserburgh vaccination centres.
Can I volunteer if I live out with the Aberdeenshire area?
Unfortunately given current travel restrictions it is not possible to allocate shifts to those who live out with the Aberdeenshire area. Also, wherever possible, volunteers are asked to assist at the vaccination centre located closest to their home address.
