Whitehills School Catchment Informal Survey

Education & Children's Services at Aberdeenshire Council would like your views regarding the primary school catchment (zone) area of Whitehills School.

On 1 February 2024, Education & Children’s Services Committee agreed to the Learning Estate Strategy, Movement Towards a Sustainable Estate. The Committee also approved the commencement of engagement with the Banff, Turriff and Westhill Clusters, giving an infographic and survey to gain their view on primary school provision.

The Banff Cluster survey received 663 responses and useful feedback from participants. The analysis of the surveys can be viewed at the below link: https://engage.aberdeenshire.gov.uk/cluster-infographic-surveys

Following on from the infographic and survey, Whitehills School is the only school within the Banff Cluster that is operating above 85% capacity. The school catchment area can be seen in the map below which encompasses Whitehills in the north, Inverboyndie in the east, Ladysbridge in the centre and a large rural area in the east and south.

The Learning Estates Team would like to gather the views of the rural residents of Whitehills School catchment and have created a short survey. This survey is the first stage of a process and the results of this will determine any further consultation that may be required. Any changes to a catchment area must go through a Statutory Consultation under the Schools (Consultation) (Scotland) Act 2010. Please note, no children will require to change schools as a result of this survey.

The survey is solely focused on the primary catchment area and not the secondary catchment area, it should take around 5 minutes to complete. We welcome your participation.
