20 MPH Limits Programme Approved by Committees
Aberdeenshire's roll out of 20 mph limits has now been approved by all six of the Council's Area Committees with some minor adjustments in some areas. Committees were asked to consider all the formal objections received as well as wider comments on speed limit issues.
With a few exceptions they approved the roll out of 20 mph limits as per the proposed plans, and further requested officials to look again at areas where residents had requested the 20 mph limits be extended and also where request for other speed limit changes had been made.
Roads officials will now re-examine the assessments for 20 mph in the relevant areas as well as wider speed limit change requests and will report back to Area Committees in the autumn of this year.
Roads squads will now begin the process for installing new signs in preparation for a "go-live" date for the introduction and extensions of 20 mph limits on a date to be announced later this year.
