NOTICE OF PRE-APPLICATION CONSULTATION

Proposed development of Land and Marine areas at Banff Bridge, Banff (including land at The Greenbanks, Banff) for installation of scour protection measures in the River Deveron at Banff Bridge.

In respect of a forthcoming application for a Marine Licence associated with the Installation of scour protection measures at Banff Bridge, a Pre-Application Consultation will be held at the following time, location, and date:

  • Monday 30th September 2024 – Deveron Community and Sports Centre, Bellevue Road, Banff, AB45 1BY – from 13:00-19:30.

The proposed development will comprise: Installation of scour protection measures in the riverbed of the River Deveron at Banff Bridge. Measures will take the form of rock filled mattresses which will extend up to 20m upstream and downstream of the existing bridge piers.

Application for a Marine Licence:

Installation of scour protection measures, including:

  • Removal of existing rock armour surrounds to the existing bridge pier aprons, including the riverbed.
  • Installation of rock filled mattresses, which will be fixed in place using ground anchors, drilled into the riverbed.

Any comments made during this pre-application stage are to the prospective applicant and are not representations to Marine Scotland Licencing Operations Team (MS-LOT). Upon submission of a formal Marine Licence application to Marine Scotland Licensing Operations Team, there will be periods within which to make formal representations to the regulatory authority.
