The TEC Room is a technology demonstration room in Peterhead at 70 King Street. Technology Enabled Care (TEC) is the use of technology to provide health and social care services at home.

The TEC Room is a welcoming, homely space to help you learn about some technology options. There are live demonstrations of some of the technology and you will find out how it can help people to live safely and independently.

Book a visit to one one our open sessions hosted by occupational therapists, who already routinely prescribe technology when caring for service users within the community.

Home consumer options including a smart speaker with built-in video screen (featuring Amazon Alexa), an automatic curtain opener, smart plugs connected to lamps, and a doorbell camera can all be tried out. Also on display are examples of devices available through Aberdeenshire Lifeline, our Community Alarm and Telecare service, including fall sensors and pendant alarms.
