The Aberdeenshire Licensing Board reviews its liquor licensing fees in line with the council's corporate charging policy, this is done to ensure that the Board's costs are met by the fee income which it receives.
The Board has very little discretion when it comes to the fees it charges, as the majority of its licensing fees are set by statute, however, they do have discretion when it comes to the fees they can charge for the transfer of a premises licence, the major variation of a premises licence as well as the copying and replacement of licences.
The Board has therefore carried out a cost analysis in respect of these areas with a view to ensuring the the fees offer full recovery of their costs. The Board's findings, proposed fees and a comparison of how these compare in terms of Scotland can be found within the 'Key Documents' section.
The Board has not fixed any fees at this stage and wish to take into account the views of the trade, its statutory consultees and members of the public before doing so.
We therefore should be obliged if you would kindly provide us with your views by completing the short survey below which should take no more than 10 10 minutes to complete.
Please note that this survey is open from the 3rd of November 2025 until the 30th of November 2025.
The results of the survey will be collated and analysed before being put to the Board for consideration at their meeting on the 17th of December 2025, the final fees set by the Board will come into effect on the 1st of April 2026.
