ASSET TRANSFER UNDER THE COMMUNITY EMPOWERMENT ACT

NOTICE OF ASSET TRANSFER REQUEST

An asset transfer request has been made to Aberdeenshire Council under Part 5 of the Community Empowerment (Scotland) Act 2015.

The request has been made by Newmachar Culture and Library Association and relates to the Newmachar Library Building.

The request is for the full transfer of the Newmachar Library Building.

The proposed use of the asset is to keep it operating as a library while also using it as a flexible community hub for cultural, learning, wellbeing, and social activities.

Anyone may make representations about this request to Aberdeenshire Council.

Representations must be in writing and include the name and address of the person making it. A copy of the representation will be given to the organisation making the request.

Representations must be made by 5.00 pm on 9 September 2026
