NOTICE OF ASSET TRANSFER REQUEST
An asset transfer request has been made to Aberdeenshire Council under Part 5 of the Community Empowerment (Scotland) Act 2015.
The request has been made by Strichen Town House Trust and relates to the Strichen Library, 59a Water Street, Strichen, Fraserburgh, AB43 6ST. The request is for ownership of the building and grounds.
The proposed project is to enable the community of Strichen to have improved access to the provision of library services to the village and surrounding area.
Anyone may make representation about this request to Aberdeenshire Council by completing the survey form below. Representations must be made in writing and include the name and address of the person making it. A copy of all anonymised representations will be given to the organisation making the request. A copy of our Privacy Notice can be found in the Important Links section.
Representations must be made by 5pm on Thursday 31st July 2025.

Representations will then be posted on Aberdeenshire Council's website along with any response from the community body.

Notification and Representations - A minimum period of 20 working days is provided for public comments. Any representations received will be copied to the Community Body for their comments.
Community Body - will also have at least 20 working days in which to provide their comments. The representations and any comments will then be published online.
Decision-Making process - Representations along with other key information submitted will be considered before a written report will be presented to the relevant Area Committee for determination.
