Statutory Consultation with the Local Community under Part 8 of the Community Empowerment (Scotland) Act 2015 for Disposal of Common Good Land – Proposed sale of land at Canal Park, Banff to Morrison PLC for Supermarket.
Representations made through the consultation are available to viewonline.
Banff and Buchan Area Committee considered these representations on Tuesday 17 August where the committee agreed:
to instruct the Head of Legal and People to conclude missives for the sale of the subjects, including the negotiated minimum price,
to instruct the Head of Legal and People to proceed to seek approval from the Court under s.75 of the Local Government (Scotland) Act 1973,
that a non-statutory consultation process be initiated with local sports clubs, to identify opportunities for future investment and to maximise the benefits for the communities
to authorise expenditure of monies from the Banff and Macduff Common Good funds to meet the cost of:
obtaining an Economic Retail Impact Assessment Report, and
the engagement of Counsel to take forward the application to the Court of Session,
