The Formartine Local Learning Community met in March 2025 to progress work on community learning mapping to be shared with partners and organisations across the area. the purpose is to strengthen partnership working and identify potential joint projects aligned with two key priorities from the Aberdeenshire Community Learning and Development Plan (2024-202): Employability and Community Empowerment, The mapping also supports the creation of a shared local directory of local community learning provisions and helps identify gaps in existing services.

The meeting highlighted the positive impact of partnership working in Formartine. A Turriff network meeting, facilitated by Community Learning and Development and Public Health Teams, brought together local organisations to plan April’s learning programmes in Turriff. This helped to reduce duplication, identified service gaps, such as youth provision in the area, and encouraged more efficient use of local resources.

The International Women’s Day event in Ellon further demonstrated the partnership approach. Co-delivered by CLD, the Co-op, Health and Social Care Central Teams, and Community Conversation Café volunteers, the event offered learning opportunities around gender equality and women’s leadership while supporting inclusive community engagement.
