The Aberdeenshire Learning Community Partnership (ALCP) encouraged communities and partners to engage with us. Local Learning Community Partnerships across Aberdeenshire have discussed and gathered needs and trends which has led to the establishment of two themes for our new plan.

Theme 1. Community Empowerment

Empowering people, individually and collectively, to make positive changes in their lives and in their communities, through learning.

Theme 2. Employment and Skills

Mapping the community learning offer across Aberdeenshire ensuring progression and pathways are available to young people, adults and communities. This will develop clear progression access routes for learners to build the necessary skills and qualifications to progress in learning, training, employment and life.

The feedback has been crucial to the shaping of the new CLD Partnership Plan.

Scotland has a need for successful learners, confident individuals,

responsible citizens and effective contributors working together to build a shared future

As part of The Requirements for Community Learning and Development (Scotland) Regulations 2013, a duty was placed on local authorities to secure delivery of community learning and development in their area.
