Consultation has concluded
Views are being sought from the communities of Torphins and Lumphanan on proposals to come together under one community council. The communities are currently represented by Torphins Community Council and Lumphanan Community Council. The proposals would involve extending Torphins Community Council’s boundary to incorporate the full area currently represented by Lumphanan Community Council. The boundaries can be viewed online here.
Community Council representation is important to provide a strong voice to represent communities’ needs and wishes. As Lumphanan Community Council has struggled to maintain membership and is not currently able to operate, joining Torphins Community Council was proposed as a more sustainable solution for representing the area.
