Aberdeenshire has been successful in securing significant investment from the UK Government Levelling Up Fund. This funding gives a unique one-off opportunity to develop our local communities. As well as improving Macduff Marine Aquarium, the project will create a new Peterhead Cultural Quarter, using Arbuthnott House in Broad Street.
The project team are keen to hear from residents of Peterhead and Aberdeenshire about activities at the new facility at Peterhead.
Much work has already been invested in the development of the physical spaces and plans can be seen in the information section of the page. Undoubtedly both projects will be beneficial for the people, businesses, and communities of the Northeast as well as visitors from both near and far.
The Peterhead Cultural Quarter
The building will be in Peterhead, but this will offer a cultural space that will celebrate the rich and unique aspects of the Northeast. The space will provide a new regional museum able to display national touring exhibitions, a new library, a family-friendly café, and a restaurant with harbour views. Crucially, there will also be the addition of a new a green outdoor space with the re-creation of the walled garden that once belonged to Arbuthnott House.
You are asked wherever you live in the North East to contribute to the ideas and survey below. Please complete the survey by ??????. Your input is valued and will help shape the use of the facility. Thanks
