Peterhead - Plan for Neighbourhoods - Small Grant Fund

💬 Your Community. Your Voice. Your Vision. Let’s Shape Peterhead – Together.

The Peterhead Neighbourhood Board would like to gather as much feedback from the community as possible to help shape the plan. We are particularly keen to hear from your user groups, as well as from those working with people aged 18–24 or those aged 65 and over. It's important to us that we capture a wide range of voices to ensure the plan reflects the needs and priorities of the whole community is grant is more than just funding — it’s about listening, engaging, and growing with your community.

To apply, your project must:

  • 🌍 Engage local people on what matters most in their neighbourhood.
  • 🗣️ Create space to gather feedback from your user groups on the Plan for Neighbourhood Prospectus — helping shape what comes next for Peterhead
  • 🤝 Connect with the PNB by offering chances for Board Members to attend your events meet your group and share your feedback.
  • 📌 Address community needs, especially in areas or groups where support is currently missing

This is your opportunity to lead change where it’s needed most — and ensure your community’s voice is part of shaping Peterhead’s future.

 Who Can Apply?

  • Local charities, community groups, voluntary orgs, sports clubs
  • Must:
    • Be active within the Peterhead Neighbourhood Board area
    • Have a Governing Document & bank account
    • Link the grant to a new or existing activity/event

📍 We’re Especially Keen to Hear from You If You’re Based In:

We want to make sure voices from across Peterhead are heard. We're particularly interested in applications from groups or services active in the following areas:

  • Gadle Braes
  • Buchanhaven
  • Town Centre (including Longate, Broad Street, Jamaica Street)
  • New Housing Developments off West Road / Longside Road
  • Roseberry Drive, St Kilda Avenue & Fair Isle Crescent
  • Towerhill and Burnhaven

🚫 What Can’t Be Funded?

  • Activities outside the Peterhead Neighbourhood Board area
  • Political, retrospective, or alcohol-related events
  • Costs related to winding up organisations or bad debts

💡 Grant Highlights:

  • One grant per group
  • Must involve community engagement on local needs
  • Invite PNB Members to connect with your event
  • Support offered via SURF Alliance for Action

📅 How It Works:

  1. Simple application form & guidance. Please read the attached Application Guidance Form before completing your application form  
  2. Transparent decision-making by the Peterhead Neighbourhood Board
  3. Applications accepted until funds are fully committed or October 2025.  The deadline for Round One applications is Monday, 28 July.
  4. Use your own engagement tools – just send feedback via our proforma template

Please confirm that your application does not include any of the following ineligible costs: 

  • Applications  for events or activities that have already happened
  • Activities/events outside the Peterhead Neighbourhood Board boundary
  • Events/activities run for party political purposes
  • Alcohol-related costs
  • Costs involved in winding up a company or organization. Bad debts, fines, financial penalties, or expenses of litigation
  • The replacement of fundraising income or general reserves
  • The displacement of funding already secured for the project
  • Costs formally committed to or spent prior to the project start date
  • Costs incurred or invoiced after the project end date
  • Payments not supported by invoices and/or documents proving expenditure
  • Recoverable VAT
