Consultation has concluded
We're looking at alternative models of service delivery, providing the best possible health and wellbeing activities across Aberdeenshire communities within the resources available. Historically we have tended to operate out of fixed venues in the main centres of population, but we recognise a lot of our residents live more rurally and we are keen to provide them with services closer to where they live and work using a flexible model of delivery which isn't necessarily based around physical venues.
We want to provide communities with locally-based activities which are more accessible and have a lower impact on the environment - with less travel required to provide and participate, meeting local needs.
While some services can only be delivered in facilities in larger settlements, such as swimming pool based activities, we hope to bring a wide range of interesting, exciting and innovative opportunities for sport and culture closer to you. We want to involve you in the process of designing these innovative new services, to try to make sure we get it right for you.
