Cleaning is our biggest cost and we clean most of our 70 public toilets once a day.  We’re looking at ways to continue to offer public toilets but trying to make the budget stretch a bit further. One idea is to clean some toilets, particularly those in quieter areas, less often. How often do you think public toilets should be cleaned?

Currently some of our larger towns in Aberdeenshire have more than one public toilet.  In towns in Aberdeenshire, where there is more than one public toilet available, would you consider it acceptable to move to one public toilet per town with extra Comfort Partners being sought to provide additional toilet facilities?

Would you be willing to participate in community initiatives such as the Community Run Scheme, or if you are a business owner, consider joining the Comfort Partnership Scheme? 

Some toilets are run by local groups who get a yearly grant to open, close, and clean them, while the Council covers maintenance and bills. Others are part of our Comfort Partnership Scheme, where local businesses let the public use their loos for free in return for a grant and promotion.
