Aberdeenshire Health and Social Care Partnership currently commission the external services of the Royal National Institute of Blind people (RNIB) and Deaf Action to provide information, advice and support for those living with a sensory impairment.
RNIB is currently providing information, short-term emotional and practical support and a link to other key services for people with a visual impairment in Aberdeenshire, focusing on those who are newly diagnosed; newly certified or registered as sight impaired or severely sight impaired; or struggling due to a change in vision or circumstances
Deaf Action is currently responsible for the provision of information and advice to people who are deaf and hard of hearing. Information and advice are provided on wellbeing, support services and equipment and will reflect the national and local perspective of services for people with a hearing impairment.
The dual sensory support service is provided by a combination of services from the Visual Impairment team, RNIB and Deaf Action
If you are working with a service user living with a sensory loss, or with a carer for someone living with sensory loss we would like to hear your thoughts on the current and/or future sensory support service in Aberdeenshire. The survey has been designed to capture views from professionals working with service users with a sensory loss. Please do not include any information (i.e names, addresses, etc) as this survey is anonymous.
