We want to develop a policy about toilet and sanitary provision in any new or refurbished council buildings, and would like your help.
We have created a short survey to help us learn what toilet provisions people would like to see in any council owned buildings, including our schools. We are looking for feedback from pupils, Aberdeenshire Council staff and the wider community.
To help explain, we use the term 'unisex toilets' in the survey. Some people may know them better as mixed sex or gender neutral toilets but essentially it's a space that anyone can use, regardless of their sex or gender. Single sex toilets, or separate sex toilets offer a space for males or females only.
We ask about two types of unisex toilets:
Type 1: toilets with no shared facilities, which means they are fully enclosed with a toilet, sink and facilities all in one room. Something like this:
Type 2: toilets with shared facilities, which means there are a row of separate toilets but with shared sinks and other facilities in a public space. Something like this:
It's a short but important survey that will take about 5 minutes to complete. Your feedback will help us take a common approach across all our new buildings.
