Turriff A2B dial-a-bus Survey
Turriff Rural A2B Service
We sought your views about Turriff Rural A2B, a free dial-a-bus service operated by Aberdeenshire Council on Mondays to Fridays in-between school transport times, with all journeys requiring to be pre-booked. The service operates into Turriff from Auchterless, Greeness, Cuminestown, Garmond, New Byth and Crudie.
We wanted to review whether the service could be improved.
This survey was aimed at Turriff Rural A2B dial-a-bus passengers and people who would like to use the bus service.
The survey closed on 27th November 2022. There were 37 responses.
In our survey we asked:
About whether you used A2B dial-a-bus.
For your opinion about the existing service.
For your opinion about a potential fixed route timetabled service, e.g. once per week, that would not need to be booked.
You told us:
84% of respondents (31 people) had previously heard about Turriff Rural A2B.
49% of respondents (18 people) used the service.
Most existing customers used the service weekly or less.
94% of non-users (16 people) were interested in using Turriff Rural A2B.
28 people would be interested in using a timetabled bus service for New Byth and Cuminestown.
The results can be viewed in the report in the documents section on the right-hand side of this page.
We have used the data from the survey along with information about journeys made by existing customers to revise the Turriff Rural A2B service.
From Monday 6 March 2023 we will trial changes including the introduction of a timetabled service on Mondays and Wednesdays between New Byth, Garmond, Cuminestown and Turriff. This service operates a fixed route picking up and setting down at bus stops.
