What is Youth Bank Aberdeenshire?
Youth Bank is:
a small grant project for young people (12-25) in Aberdeenshire to apply for funding for projects that matter to them.
a panel of young people who look at, and make decisions on, applications for funding youth led projects across Aberdeenshire.
How can I be involved?
If you are (12-25) and living in Aberdeenshire we invite you to:
Give your views through this page: We'll hold polls and take comments to make sure the fund is as accessible as possible to young people and that the fund reflects what's important to Young People.
We know not all young people will access the fund, or give views, through this page so we will also be out and about talking to Young People about the fund.
Show support for projects submitted: When the fund is open you'll also have the opportunity to express support for and comment on applications, through this page, to help the panel make an informed and fair decision. (Go to ideas section)
Send an expression of interest to join the Youth Bank Panel! More details below.
Inspire others! If you've been involved in a youth led project we could post your story here to inspire others. (Go to stories section)

We will open Youth Bank for new applications to the fund from 16th October 2023.
If you are a group of Young People living in Aberdeenshire and your project meet this years criteria then, yes, you can apply for up to £2000. Check out the quick poll for this years main topics we can fund!

Can I be on this on the Youth Bank Panel this year?
We are currently recruiting a panel of diverse young people from across Aberdeenshire. Please send an expression of interest if you are:
between 12-25yrs, living in Aberdeenshire
Interested in learning about youth projects, your local area
keen to work with others for the benefit of your community
No experience needed!
Although our main recruitment will take place between October/November but we are open to new members throughout the year or until we reach the maximum panel size.

What do I get out of being on the Aberdeenshire Youth Bank Panel?
You can meet new people from across Aberdeenshire, develop new skills in working with others, decision making and working as part of a team. You will also get the opportunity to achieve some accreditation if you wish. And you should hopefully have some fun along the way.
Sounds good but how much time will I be committing?
Youth Banks youth panel training and decision making sessions will all be online.
Introduction and initial group training session. (1.5hrs)
Monthly decision making sessions (1.5hr digital evening sessions)
Review and design sessions to see how we could make Youth Bank even better. (Scheduled as and when needed)
Promotion - no time commitment but we hope our panel would help promote the Youth Bank to Young People across Aberdeenshire
Accreditation is optional - for those interested in accreditation for involvement we can hold additional sessions to support this
New to this and need a little more training (scheduled as needed)
