Aberdeenshire Youth Rights Committee

#TacklingPoverty #Inequalities #LivedExperience #YouthRights

Whose voice did we hear?
Young people from across Aberdeenshire aged 12–21 who were involved in the Aberdeenshire Youth Rights Committee.

Why were we asking about this?
To support young people to come together, raise youth issues, and take forward positive changes in their communities through youth-led sub-groups and participation activities.

What did we hear?
Over the last few years, the group has worked on a range of projects and created useful resources and workshops. Their work has included engaging with young people with lived experience to make positive changes, as well as developing workshops and training on UNCRC, GIRFEC, stigma and Over2Youth events.

What did we do with the voices we heard?
Young people used the issues raised to form sub-groups, take action on priorities, and develop resources, workshops and events that support positive change in their communities.
