Over To Youth 2022, 2024 & 2026

Whose voice did we hear?

Young people from across Aberdeenshire aged 12–25.

Why were we asking about this?

To bring young people together to plan, run and evaluate a free youth event, explore the challenges they face such as poverty, inequality, stigma, mental health, transport and the cost of the school day, and identify solutions with decision makers.

What did we hear?

Young people valued having the space, confidence and power to make Over 2 Youth happen. They highlighted issues including inequalities, stigma, mental health, transport and financial pressures, and said it helped them feel less alone while connecting with like-minded peers.

What did we do with the voices we heard?

The project used young people’s ideas to shape and deliver the event, raise awareness of the issues affecting them, inform and challenge decision makers, and explore opportunities to work together on practical solutions.
