The Fraserburgh BIG Ideas Project is designed to address increasing challenges in the town centre by tackling rising vacancy rates and declining footfall. With empty unit vacancy rates growing, the project aims to stimulate new life in the town centre. Through targeted financial support, it encourages property owners to bring vacant premises back into use and supports entrepreneurs and existing businesses by providing funding to help them get up and running and start trading. The initiative seeks to increase visitor numbers, boost local spending and strengthen the overall town centre economy, while also building community capacity and encouraging long-term local investment.

A survey was open from 11th March to 12th April 2026 to gather your views on what you would like to see delivered in Fraserburgh town centre with this grant fund.
The survey results will be compiled and analysed and results published later in April. The results will be used to shape the grant fund criteria and provide data to potential applicants.
More details will be announced in due course.
