Local Learning Community Partnerships (LLCPs) are made up of local organisations and community volunteers who share an interest in the community learning and development of the area. There are six of these partnerships across Aberdeenshire.
The partnerships feed into the strategic Aberdeenshire Learning Community Partnership (ALCP) who work towards agreed priorities. This is in line with local need and the requirements of the Scottish Government regulations for CLD.
The ALCP priorities are the focus for gathering local data and intelligence and creating a response to meet the needs of communities. The aim of the LLCP is to work together to deliver programmes and activities which will have a positive impact on those living in the area.
The priorities
Improving health and wellbeing through community learning and development.
Improving life chances through community learning and development.
Building community capacity and resilience through community learning and development.
Strengthening workforce development, including with volunteers, through community learning and development.
Still in its infancy the Garioch LLCP has been well supported by a range of partners and continues to grow from strength to strength. Over the last year, a number of partners highlighted issues shared at the LLCP which have become projects between partners.

A local need was identified to support adult isolation in the community. The Garioch LLCP partners got together and decided to organise a weekly community cafe so people can come along and find out about local organisations and get information on groups and support they might not know about.

Partners attended a Garioch LLCP meeting in March. This meeting recapped where we were at as a partnership. We highlighted the results from the previous mapping exercise along with the learning and the gaps we had identified as needing support in the community.
At the previous LLCP meeting we asked our partners what they already deliver in Garioch, giving us an indicationof what needs are already being supported and where there were gaps.
All partners agreed that there was a need for a networking event to reduce the amount of duplication and increase partnership working. It was agreed to organise an event later in the year, which all partners were happy to support.
Updates frompartnerswere informative and allowed organisations to find out more about what is going on in the local areas to signpost their current learners and clients or toget involved themselves.
