The Licensing Sub-Committee is interested in your views on their proposed taxi fare scale.

The taxi fare scale states the maximum fares chargeable by taxis licensed and operating within Aberdeenshire.

It is therefore important that the fare scale which we set is well balanced so that this supports the trade and also provides value.

The proposed taxi fare scale which we are consulting on represents no change to the current fare scale and is based on the results of the initial consultation which we held with the trade.

That being said, Members are also seeking views on a proposal to reduce the period covered by the festive season rate and are interested in any comments or alternative proposals that you may have in that regard.

Members, are keen to ensure that both the public and the trade have a genuine opportunity to engage with this consultation.

Your feedback is essential in helping inform the Licensing Sub-Committee's decision.

We would therefore encourage you to tell us what aspects of the fare scale you think work well and also where you feel changes are needed.

Without this input, it is difficult for to fully understand the practical impact of the current arrangements or potential changes to the scale.

Please complete the consultation form below to provide us with your views by the 18th of June 2026.

We estimate that this should take no longer than 20 minutes to complete in full.

The consultation responses received will be considered by the Licensing Sub-Committee at their meeting on Friday the 28th of August 2026.
