Aberdeenshire Health & Social Care Partnership is currently consulting on its Draft Aberdeenshire Adult Carer Strategy, which is our plan of what we have been doing and what we plan to do to support adult carers over the next five years.

AHSCP is asking adult carers and people who support them, to give their views and help set our Priorities on how we support adult carers to sustain their caring role and have a meaningful life alongside caring.

The Consultation Survey is now open to give your views and will close on 1st September 2025. We will then review your feedback and develop the final strategy for presenting to the Integrated Joint Board (IJB) 12th December 2025. Once the strategy is approved by the IJB, we aim to launch the final strategy in January 2026.

Live Life Aberdeenshire (LLA) is looking to the future - and we want your voice at the heart of it. As part of our ongoing commitment to support place planning in Huntly, we’re reviewing how our venues are used and how they could better serve the community.

This short survey is your chance to tell us about the venues we currently operate. We are also seeking to better understand the role of LLA in the context of the Huntly Campus Place Plan so that any recommendations for the LLA service in Huntly compliments work already carried out by the community.

So, whether you’re a regular user, a local group, or someone with fresh ideas, we’d love to hear from you.

We will use this feedback to shape the place-based vision for the LLA service, the appropriate use of our buildings, and opportunities for programme development.

More information about LLA can be found by visiting our website Live Life Aberdeenshire(External link), and by reading our 2024/25 Annual Report(External link).

The survey is open until Monday 18th August and the results will be used to inform the in-person engagement sessions which will be held at the Linden Centre on Saturday 23rd August from 10 am until 12 noon and Tuesday 26th August from 11 am until 1 pm and from 6 pm until 8 pm.

    Inaugural Meeting, Thursday 20th March

Two learners attended a meeting held at Stonehaven Community Centre, they shared their experiences for adult learning with Community Learning and Development. We discussed the purpose, benefits, barriers and key issues of adult learning. We also explored their hopes for the future for Adult Learning in Kincardine and Mearns.

As this was their first meeting, an overview of the purpose of an Adult Learning Forum was shared with them, with an emphasis of them being the experts, encouraging them to share their opinions and have their voice heard.

Both learners would be keen to be part of the Kincardine and Mearns Adult Learners Forum and would be interested in joining discussions and events.

Adult Learners Forum Aberdeenshire (ALFA) met on Tuesday 19th November to discuss plans and direction of travel for the remainder or 2024 and the first half of 2025.

ALFA members were in agreement that the priority for the remainder of 2024 is to encourage Aberdeenshire adult learners to participate in the Budget Engagement for 2025/26 that Aberdeenshire Council has live on Engage Aberdeenshire.

Community Learning and Development Workers (CLD Workers) who support adult voice in our local communities have been tasked with supporting existing adult learners to understand their rights when it comes to having their voices heard in the budget setting process and to offer support with completing the consultation form if they choose to be involved. ALFA members will also promote this across their networks.
